Dear readers!

Welcome to Botany News. I hope you like the content and look forward to seeing the response. Summer has long since arrived: thyme, dandelions and yarrows are everywhere, the sunny weather is kind to the vegetation, asparagus pollen is all over town and people are either thinking about summer trips or returning to town.

Please send us letters and articles on vegetation and green issues for publication in the next issue of Botany News. Older issues are also available online. Botany News is Thund's newsletter and a forum for botany, ecology, environmental issues, and nature conservation. You can request a link to your website in the newsletter or on our links page. Suggestions for topics for the next issue are welcome.

We now offer three courses designed to strengthen participants' understanding of biology, ecology, and applied botany. The biology course offers clear, engaging insights into biology as a scientific discipline, its links to other fields, and the characteristics of life. The ecology course introduces key concepts and fundamentals, with an emphasis on Iceland's unique environment. The applied botany course explores native plants and their uses, including edible wild plants and opportunities for cultivation. All three courses are ideal for anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge of Iceland's biology and ecosystems, whether for personal interest, preparation for further study, or a clearer direction in their studies or career.

Thund also provides other biological consultancy, including environmental assessments, research, translations, and excursions. We are building a team of biologists, guides and professional translators who want to participate in the development of the company. We would love to hear from those who are interested and want to contribute to the work or support it in other ways.
